OLLIE

“I’m not wearing that shirt.”

Ollie frowned at Bayu, whose words hadn’t held an ounce of emotion. Nope, he’d stated it as absolute fact. “But you’re our third alternate.”

“I didn’t agree to that.”

He might have a point, but…. “Okay, well, technically you didn’t.”

“Technically, I agreed to have a group date night because you wanted me to meet Bailey and the rest of their pack since that’s where Dylan and Emily are spending their time.”

“Well, yes. I wanted you to get to know my sister and help me make sure Dylan is settling into pack life.”

Bayu grunted. “Plus, you want me to hang out with your friends outside of the compound because you think it’s important for us to do more than go on dinner dates because our lives are deeply connected to three packs so it’s important for us to develop our couplehood with that in mind.”

Ollie couldn’t help but sputter. “Did you just literally quote back a ton of Ollie-babble from the other night at me?”

“Yes.”

Ollie grinned and sidled closer to Bayu. He wrapped his arms around Bayu’s waist and looked up at him. “That’s very sweet of you.”

He couldn’t believe it had taken his grandpa pointing out the obvious to both of them that they were mates, but, well, that was Grandpa’s way. He’d managed to jerk a knot in not one but two of his grandkids in one fell swoop. The man was impressive. Ollie needed to up his game if he wanted to continue his quest to be as awesome as Grandpa William.

“I listen when you talk,” Bayu huffed.

“I know you do. I just didn’t know you memorized every word I say. That’s sweet. And requires a lot of talent because we both know I can talk.”

Bayu squirmed a little. “I don’t memorize every word.”

Ollie kissed Bayu’s neck before pulling away. “Only the important ones. Now get in the truck and take me to the bowling alley. I’m bringing the shirt. If Dylan’s wearing his, you have to wear yours.”

“I didn’t agree to any of this,” Bayu grumbled.

Ollie laughed.

But he had.

The moment he’d agreed that they were mates and didn’t run screaming into the woods, he’d agreed. When he’d held Ollie close and promised they’d take it slow, he’d agreed. His poor deluded tiger hadn’t read the fine print. He’d simply clicked the little box that said he’d read the terms and conditions without actually reading them. Ollie read on the internet somewhere that it was the most told lie in the world, clicking that little box claiming you’d read all the things when you absolutely had not. Everybody did it.

Well, Ollie didn’t.

Not anymore, anyway.

He used to do it all the time. Then Victor found out and spent about three weeks chewing his ass at every opportunity about his carelessness. He’d had no idea what deviousness hid in those terms and conditions.

Such as the fact that Bayu had unknowingly agreed to family dinners. Ollie couldn’t wait until Bayu had to face his first Nana-style family dinner. Bayu wouldn’t know what hit him.
